ULANZI GO-QUICK II 1.4M EXTENDABLE TRIPOD

The Ulanzi Go-Quick II 1.4m Extendable Tripod (https://www.ulanzi.com/products/ulanzi-go-quick-ii-1-4m-extendable-tripod-3113?aff=361) is part of the Go-Quick II family, big brother to the Go-Quick II Tripod and cousin to the Go-Quick II Magnetic Quick Release Mount Clamp . Ulanzi are leaning heavily into a variety of quick release ranges, from the F38 to the F22 and of course the Go-Quick II.

The tripod configuration is built to work for actions cameras, small units, not weighing more than 0.5KG. Which, with the right accessory (insert link) you could easily mount your phone to it.

The Go-Quick II tripod Extendable tripod weighs a total of 339 grams and can be reduced to a total length of 300mm. The extension pole is made of aluminium and the rest made of ABS or Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene a common thermoplastic polymer used in many camera accessories.

The Extendable tripod as the name suggests stands a total maximum height from tip to tip of 1470mm (1.47 meters) and when the legs aren’t spread (the pole in selfie stick form) is 1443mm in total length. The pole alone extends to a total length of 1300mm, before you get to the action camera mount on top. You can then extend the 7-segment pole to any length up to its full extension. Each segment is slightly different in length, but each works smoothly with its adjoining counterpart.

Atop the extension pole is the quick release mount, which is designed in the form of a traditional GoPro mount, accompanied with a mounting screw.

The feature of this tripod is in the quick release mechanism. The mount is held to the bracket by a magnet, ensuring it finds its placement securely in the bracket quickly and easily. To secure the mount you simply push the button and turn the mount. To disengage the mount, there is a small button (locking pin) on the side of the bracket which when pressed, releases the mount with a turning and pulling motion.

The benefit of this system is that the mounts are interchangeable amongst the other tripod accessories in the Go-Quick II range. At this stage the range is limited, but I imagine in time the range will expand to make use of more clips, mounts, brackets, and other accessories.

The handle of the tripod, which can be used for handheld vlogging is quite sizeable in your hand, measuring 240mm in length and a radius of 36mm (think tennis racket handle). To vlog with this accessory, you would need to manually tilt the camera, held by the mount, to the desired angle to frame your face.

This handle can also be split apart to form the legs of the tripod, which is why the handle needs to be the girth it is. The tripod legs are locked in position by a bevelled red locking ring. Be careful when bringing back the legs together that you don’t pinch the skin on your palm, it can be quite uncomfortable.

When locked the handle cannot move apart. When released the handle can be unclicked using gentle force at the base. The legs can then be positioned at any angle between 90-degrees and 30-degrees. The red locking ring, then secures the legs into position as it is tightened again.

The feet of the tripod are rubber, and therefore safe for any surface, enabling grip and stability, while not damaging indoor delicate surfaces. The length of the legs cannot be individually changed, they are set and connect to one another.

When the tripod legs are extended as far as they can go they occupy a distance of 225mm from the centre of the pole, and 390mm from each other.

The Go-Quick ii 1.4m Extendable Tripod (https://www.ulanzi.com/products/ulanzi-go-quick-ii-1-4m-extendable-tripod-3113?aff=361) is the perfect accessory for the run and gun vlogger who prefers to only shoot with an action camera. Not only can you walk and vlog with this accessory, but you can also easily and quickly set it up as a standalone tripod, filming any scene you’re in. Plus, you have the benefit of interchanging it with the other Go-Quick II range, or just as comfortably using it all on its own for your desired purposes. The Go-Quick II extendable tripod will cost you $25.95 and can be picked up here.
